Former Prasa board's battle continues in court
Updated | By Slindelo Masikane
Former Chairperson of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa), Popo Molefe, and former board members are expected tobring their application in the North Gauteng High Court today - after yesterday's false start.
Molefe and members of the now dissolved board have turned to the courts to challenge the decision by Transport Minister Dipuo Peters to dismiss them.
The former board members want to be reinstated, despite an interim board already announced.
Peters dismissed the board days after Acting CEO Collins Letsoalo was shown the door for allegedly awarding himself a 350 percent salary increase.
Letsoalo filed papers at the 11th hour yesterday, asking to be a respondent.
This led to the delay in the hearing of the application - with all parties awarded more time to hand in additional documentation.
Letsoalo feels that serious allegations have been made against him in court papers and this necessitated his inclusion in the case.
