The pride of lions escaped from Ingogo Safaris game reserve in Alldays near Louis Trichardt on Monday evening.
Spokesperson for Limpopo Department of Environmental Affairs Zaid Khala says there was a break-in at the lion enclosure.
"The lions escaped through one of the gates in the facility which was broken into and we will allow the facility to conduct its own investigation procedures as they also suspect sabotage."
"Our main concern is the safety of our people around the area and our police services have already sent out a warning."
