Fuel prices set for sharp decrease in December
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
Santa might have an early Christmas present for South African motorists in the form of cheaper fuel prices in December.

This is according to the Automobile Association, which has been commenting on the unaudited mid-month data from the Central Energy Fund.
The decrease will provide some financial relief to cash-strapped consumers ahead of the festive season.
Based on the current CEF data, unleaded petrol will decrease by R1.06 a litre and R1.05 a litre for ULP 93.
The price of diesel is expected to drop by R2.10 a litre.
Illuminating paraffin will see a decrease of R1.75 a litre.
AA spokesperson Layton Beard said the stronger value of the rand against the US dollar has made a significant contribution to the expected drop in prices.
“The current data is showing that international product prices have eased since the beginning of the month and are contributing to the bulk of the expected decreases.
“The stronger value of the rand against the US dollar is also playing its part and is combining with the more stable oil prices to ensure South Africans can look forward to lower fuel prices in December.”
The new prices are expected to come into effect on 6 December.
