Gauteng police nab more than 1400 suspects

Gauteng police recovered 11 firearms during various anti-crime operations this weekend.
Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says all the firearms will be taken to ballistic testing to establish any possible link to serious and violent crimes.
“These firearms were seized from suspects who were arrested during the weekend’s O Kae Molao operations in various areas of Gauteng including Ferndale, Sebokeng, Tembisa, Reiger Park, Roodepoort and Pretoria central,” says Masondo.

Gauteng police spokesperson Marvela Masondo says the baby was unharmed.
Masondo says more than 1400 suspects were also arrested.
This includes three suspects allegedly behind a spate of house robberies in Ferndale.
“These suspects were arrested for a crime that includes murder, attempted murder, robbery, rape, fraud, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of drugs, driving while under the influence of alcohol, ATM bombing, kidnapping and intimidation” says Masondo.
The suspects are expected to appear in various magistrate’s courts soon.
