Limpopo boy (19) arrested for murder of grade 12 girl

A19-year-old boy has been arrested for the murder of a grade 12 girl at Ga-Madiba village outside Mokopane in Limpopo.
The girl, who has been identified as 17-year-old Ramokone Kale, attended Ebenezer High School.
Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the victim was allegedly stabbed with a sharp object several times on Thursday evening and found in a pool of blood.
“The police received a report about the incident and rushed to the scene. On arrival, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood with several stab wounds.
“Preliminary police investigation was immediately conducted which led to the arrest of the suspect at his place of residence in the same village.”

Limpopo MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale says the increase in gender based violence and murders is causing government "sleepless nights”.
“The violence perpetuated against the vulnerable groups of society must just come to an end, more so that every week we speak about these senseless killings that are claiming the lives of our people.
“People who have differences must just resort to peaceful means of resolving their differences other than resorting to violence."
The suspect is expected to appear in the Mokerong Magistrate's Court soon.
