HHP laid to rest

North West Premier Job Mokgoro has called on artists and people in the arts to use their talent to highlight and raise awareness for the countries social issues
Mokgoro spoke at the funeral Jabulani "HHP" Tsambo in Mahikeng on Saturday.
Tsambo, whose nickname was Jabba, passed away at the age of 38 last.
HHP was one of the pioneers of the Motswako hip-hop genre, which gained a lot of traction in the mid-1990’s.
Mokgoro said while most celebrities do not adress issues affecting society, Jabba used his music to shed light and raise awareness.

"The arts have always played an influential role in shaping our society especially through music.”
He called on government to work with artists to bring about change in society.
"Government has an inherent responsibility to work with the performing arts," Mokgoro said, adding the arts need to benefit from the state.
"That time is now, we cannot postpone it any longer.”
