Former Springbok Joost van der Westhuizen, who passed away after a lengthy battle with motor neuron disease, will be honoured at a public memorial service at Loftus Versveld in Pretoria.

His brother, Pieter van der Westhuizen, confirmed the details of the memorial service that will be held at Loftus on Friday, saying they want South Africa to say goodbye to a legend.
"Our beloved brother, son, father and best friend, Joost Heystek van der Westhuizen was a hero to the nation, our family, and everyone he met," Pieter said.
"We have had amazing support from rugby players, dignitaries and friends from all over the word. We appreciate the nation's support in this difficult time," he said.
