Lesufi: Govt won’t fix vandalised Katlehong school

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi has described the vandalising of a school by protesting community in Katlehong as barbaric.
Katlehong Primary School, east of Johannesburg, was destroyed during a service delivery protest over a lack of electricity.
Lesufi says government funds will not be used to repair the school.

"Some of the issues that the people are raising in the area are very difficult to associate with education. We have requested the police to investigate firstly the cause, but secondly if there is a need to look for those who are responsible.
"We can't tolerate this. Our standpoint is very clear, if the community is indeed involved in this thing we are not going to fix the school."
Police are investigating a case of arson.
