An 18-year-old suspect is expected to appear in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday fin connection with the murder of a 15-year-old girl.
The suspect, who is a pupil at one of the high schools in the area, was arrested on Tuesday.
His arrest followed the discovery of the body of 15-year-old Tshinakaho Munyai at Vhodwe village.
Her body was found in the bushes on Sunday, with authorities believing she was killed the previous day.
Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the girl was allegedly killed following an argument between the two.
“The 18-year-old teenager was reportedly walking in the company of the victim and after an argument, he allegedly stabbed her to death. He initially told the police that the victim was stabbed by an unknown suspect who confronted them whilst walking from the local resort.
“Following meticulous investigations conducted by the police, the 18-year-old teenager was arrested and charged with murder,” adds Mojapelo.
