Malema: Msimanga will suffer the same fate as Trollip

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says it won’t aplogise for removing Athol Trollip as Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.
The EFF, African National Congress (ANC) and the United Democratic Movement (UDM) tabled a motion of no confidence against Trollip on Monday and replaced him with UDM councillor Mongameli Bobani.
Council Speaker Jonathan Lawack was also removed.
EFF leader Julius Malema told a media briefing on Tuesday that Trollip was removed due to the arrogance that he displayed.
“Our cooperation with them will always depend on their ability to humble themselves, particularly the white arrogance in their ranks. The reason many South Africans rejected the ANC in the 2016 local government elections because of its arrogance thinking it will rule until Jesus comes back. This arrogance led to the ANC to protect, celebrate and promote corruption because they thought people will never punish them. This means in the end arrogance is the greatest threat to the will of the people.”

Malema said the EFF is happy with the election of Bobani.
“We gave the municipality to the UDM, not to the ANC and we gave it to Bobani. Whoever Bobani appoints in his executive is his call. We voted for mayor and deputy mayor and the mayor went to constitute his mayoral committee and that is his responsibility.”
He said the same will befall Tshwane Mayor Solly Msimanga when he faces two motions of no confidence on Thursday.
“What happened to Trollip is going to happen to Solly Msimanga, who has elected to not only disregard consultation with other parties in the crucial running of the city. But also allows white racists who are exposed for taking jobs without the necessary qualifications to retaliate and punish the black city manager for exposing them.”
