A man has been released on a warning by the Johannesburg metro police for transporting a herd of cows.

The City of Johannesburg's mayoral spokesperson Mlimandlela Ndamase says the metro police stopped the man in Midrand.
He was on his way to pay lobola for his girlfriend.
"These cows are transported by a man who had promised to pay lobola for his girlfriend by the end of April,” says Ndamase.

“He is now very worried that if he does not pay the girlfriend might find someone else and therefore took the risk to take this herd to her house."
Ndamase says the payment of lobola does not fall under essential services and is not allowed under level four of the lockdown.
