Police constable among 16 arrested for possession of illicit cigarettes, drugs in Limpopo

The police's Moatshe Ngoepe says a team arrested the suspects,  aged between 25 and 41. in sting operations that ended in the early hours of Saturday morning. 

"Items recovered during these operations include two motor vehicles, one firearm, ammunition, illicit cigarettes, drugs, and dagga," said Ngoepe.

The 36-year-old police Constable, stationed at Apel police station, was arrested during a stop and search operation and was found to be in possession of drugs. 

"During the arrest, the police confiscated 20 sachets of drugs (nyaope) loaded in his motor vehicle," added Ngoepe. 

A firearm and ammunition were seized from the police officer.
