Ramaphosa: Political quarrels at municipalities must end
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
President Cyril Ramaphosa says political quarrels in local municipalities need to end.
He told the local government summit in Boksburg on Wednesday that political quarrels in local government often lead to bloodshed
"It is at this level where we have had most of our challenges where people in political leadership have often butted heads amongst themselves."
"Where they start differing and even fighting like there is no tomorrow. Fighting that at times results in outright violence where people even die."
It comes as the ANC's leadership in eThekwini is visiting the family of its slain Ward 14 deputy chairperson.
Cassim Phiri was shot and killed last night after attending a party meeting in Mariannhill, west of Durban.
