Ria Ledwaba heads to court over 'unconstitutional' SAFA election

Ria Ledwaba has turned up the heat as she prepares to take on the South African Football Association (SAFA) ahead of this month's presidential elections.
Ledwada is set to go toe-to-toe with incumbent Danny Jordaan and head of SAFA in Tshwane, Solly Mohlabeng, on June 25.
The three-pronged race will decide who takes over at the helm of the organisation, a position Jordaan has held for two terms.
Ledwaba launched her campaign at the FBN Stadium on Wednesday.
Despite what appears to be a pushback, Ledwaba assured her backers she has the strength to take on both men.
"I'm standing here as an approved presidential candidate for the 2022 SAFA elections. SAFA is at a critical juncture as we speak today. The challenges that we are facing in our own organisation are institutional and organisational shortcomings.
“I'm standing here today to say South Africa needs change. The South African Football Association is going to be set free, that I promise," said Ledwaba.

But she admits dethroning Jordaan won't be an easy task.
"You have to be a firm person to be able to do that.
"I cannot be bullied by anyone, and I would not worship any person, I would worship that document called the Statutes of South African Football Association."
Despite her confidence. Ledwaba's bid for presidency has been met with some resistance.
Ledwaba also confirmed she had lodged an urgent interdict to halt the elections, citing some constitutional irregularities that she believes will work in Jordaan's favour.
