Second suspect arrested for Rhodes Park attack

A second man has been arrested in connection with the double murder at Rhodes Park where two men were drowned and a woman raped in Kensington, Johannesburg.

Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said the 22-year-old was arrested in Yeoville on Wednesday.
Two couples were attacked by 12 men while walking through the park last month. One women was raped, while the other woman managed to escape.
The two men were bound and thrown into the Rhodes Park lake. Their bodies were recovered several hours later.
The first suspect, 24-year-old Thabo Nkala made his first court appearance earlier this month and the case was postponed to November 24.
The 22-year-old would appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday on charges of murder and rape. - ANA
