‘A technician for every community’ – Soweto residents take grievances to Joburg mayor
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Protesting Soweto residents have handed over a list of demands to Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse.
Residents of the area took to the streets on Tuesday to demand the restoration of electricity and an improvement in the delivery of services.
The demands handed to Phalatse include a technician for each Soweto community and the restoration of electricity supply to all households within two months.
“The immediate solution is that each community in Soweto must be allocated a technician to go and sort out all those issues with immediate effect,” said Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla ‘Lux’ Dlamini.
