Provincial police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says initially six minors were taken into custody, but one was released after he could not be linked to the crime.
"As we went about with our investigations one of them had to be released as he could not be linked to this particular case. We have five minors and three adults. The total is eight."
Mojapelo says the minors will be kept in a juvenile facility until their next court appearance on March 14.
The three adults will be back in court on March 11 when they are expected to formally apply for bail.
