A commuter has described how she had to take over the wheel of a taxi after the driver was pepper sprayed by a metro police officer.
A commuter has described how she had to take over the wheel of a taxi after the driver was pepper sprayed by a metro police officer.
The video of Tshepiso Shongwe, who had to drive the taxi from Faraday Street in Johannesburg to the Noord taxi rank, has since gone viral.

She says the driver was approached by two metro police officers for driving in the wrong lane. An argument ensued which led to one of the officers using pepper spray on his face.
Shongwe says when the driver indicated he could not see and was in pain she took the wheel because she was late for work nobody else was willing to help
