A group, believed to be students, is currently protesting at the intersection of Rockridge and Oxford roads in Johannesburg.
Students are gathering the Trinity Church in Braamfontein in support of other protesters and students who have been arrested over the weekend and are expected to appear in court in Johannesburg.
One of them is student activist Mcebo Dlamini.
Police spokesperson Sally de Beer said those arrested will appear in courts in Johannesburg in connection with the violent protest in Braamfontein on Friday evening.
"Nine people were arrested in Braamfontein and one person was arrested at Wits University yesterday," she said.
Student leader Shaeera Kalla explains the plan of action.
