The "This Flag" social movement leader says: "Finally, we have done it."
Mugabe handed in his resignation on Tuesday.
The Zimbabwean president's resignation follows mounting pressure on him to step down as head of state.
Mugabe was ousted as leader of the ruling party, Zanu-PF, at the weekend.
