Zuma demands Zondo’s recusal from state capture commission
Former president Jacob Zuma has requested the chairperson of the commission of inquiry into state capture to recuse himself.
In a letter by Zuma's lawyers to the commission, he says Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo has already shown bias against him and declared him guilty of state capture.
Last week Zuma released another statement through his foundation, stating that the Zondo was humiliating him and wanted to “advance his career”.
This comes after an announcement he made that he would not negotiate Zuma's next appearance at the commission with his lawyers and has instructed the commission's legal team to summon the former president to appear in November.

"President Zuma believes that the source of the chairperson’s bias against him stems from the fact that president and the chairperson have historical personal, family and professional relations that ought to have been publicly disclosed by the chairperson before accepting his appointment," the letter reads.
Zuma's lawyers will file an application for Zondo's recusal and in the meantime, the former head of state will not appear before the commission in November as demanded by the chairperson.
