'I Wanna Dance With Somebody' will explore the life of one of the greatest singers in history. 

The first trailer for Whitney Houston's biographical drama captures the singer's rise to stardom.

Viewers are treated with incredible visuals and clips from Houston's most iconic songs as anticipation builds for the release of the movie.

The trailer also revisits a moment when the 'Higher Love' singer is told that her music “isn’t Black enough”. 

“Look, I don’t know how to sing Black, and I don’t know how to sing white either. I know how to sing.”

Houston will be played by actress Naomi Ackie. She will be joined by Ashton Sanders as Bobby Brown and Stanley Tucci as Clive Davis. John Houston, Whitney’s father, will be played by Clarke Peters, and Tamara Tunie will be portraying Cissy Houston, Whitney’s mother.
