Serena Williams set to receive major honour

The tennis legend is about to add another title to her already lengthy list of awards.

There is no doubt that Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes of all time.

However, in recent years she has branched out from sport and in 2018 she launched her own fashion brand, S by Serena, which was inspired by her six-year-old daughter, Olympia.

She's attended Met Galas and fully immersed herself in the world of fashion.

Now the Grand Slam winner is set to receive one of the most prestigious awards in fashion!

It was recently announced that Serena Williams will be the recipient of the Fashion Icon Award at the 2023 CFDA Fashion Awards.

Previous recipients of this award include Beyoncé, Rihanna, Pharrell Williams, and Naomi Campbell.

Serena shared her joy and gratitude for this award  in a statement:

The Council of Fashion Designers of America will be presenting Williams with the honour in November, with the Chairman Thom Browne stating that Serena is one of the most inspiring people in the world and that she represents greatness on the highest level. 

She is the definition of an icon so it doesn't come as much of a surprise that she is still receiving her flowers, even after retirement!
