Jacques Pauw: President Zuma's tax affairs should be public knowledge
Updated | By Laila Majiet
Author and veteran journalist Jacques Pauw has made some damning allegations about President Jacob Zuma in his new book, 'The President's Keepers'.

Pauw details Zuma's alleged tax evasion in the first five years of his presidency.
The book has caused much controversy since its release in October.
Pauw addressed the book launch at Exclusive Books at Brooklyn Mall on Thursday.
He told the audience: "I think the tax affairs of the President should be public knowledge. Maybe what we need is an application to the Constitutional Court. We have a right to know whether our politicians have paid their taxes."

The South African Revenue Services is considering taking legal action against Pauw.
Sars spokesperson Sandile Memela told Jacaranda FM News that they cannot refute the allegations as it would be a breach of the relationship between Sars and the taxpayer.
Memela says the publication of Zuma's tax affairs is unlawful and amounts to a criminal offence.
