The State Security Agency says it plans to lay both civil and criminal charges against NB Publishers and investigative journalist Jacques Pauw over his new explosive book, 'The President's Keepers.
State Security Minister Bongani Bongo told Jacaranda FM News they believe some of the contents of the book is in contravention of the Intelligence Services Act.
"We are viewing the book as a desperate attempt to weaken the institution of the state that was brought about by democracy," Bongo said by telephone.

The State Security Agency issued the book's publishers, NB Publishers, with a cease and desist order - demanding it recall the book.
The book exposes President Jacob Zuma's alleged tax evasion.
Bongo says sharing classified and confidential information is a criminal offence.
NB Publishers says it stands by both Pauw as well as the book.
This despite SARS also confirming it's considering taking legal action against Pauw.
