Here's what Ian Cameron said to Bheki Cele before being told to "shut up"

During a meeting between police and residents of Nyanga and Gugulethu communities, Action Society's Ian Cameron was escorted out after conflict between him and Police Minister Bheki Cele.

A video of Bheki Cele screaming at Action Society's Ian Cameron to "shut up" went viral on Tuesday.

The incident took place during a meeting between police and residents from the Nyanga and Gugulethu communities to discuss crime and policing in these areas. 

Cameron confronted Police Minister Bheki Cele on the current crime and gender-based violence cases in the surrounding communities. 

After his comments, the Action Society leader was told to “shut up” by the minister after he accused Cele of neglecting the Western Cape. Cameron was then escorted from the meeting by police.

Action Society said it would lodge a complaint with the Public Protector in terms of the Executive Members' Ethics Bill and its Code of Conduct following the incident.
