Nothing seems more awkward than being a voluntary third wheel during a couple's romantic dinner date.

One of the main reasons why couples enjoy a night out at a restaurant or eatery of their choosing is to find some alone time.

While waiters might come and go during the meal, you will generally be able to have a proper catch-up session without having to worry about who hears what and thoroughly focus on your private conversation.

However, this may pose a difficult task when your order arrives on your waiter.

And by on, we do mean that the meal and the waiter are conjoined and in order to consume the food, you will have to get up close and personal with the waiter.

In a viral video that was shared on Twitter, a man (the presumed waiter in this scenario) can be seen kneeling next to a table. The man also has what seems to be a "cheeseboard", complete with cheese, grapes, bread, and more, secured to his face somehow.

The couple then eats the cheeseboard, not by removing said items from the waiter's face, but instead eating it from his face:

The video caused major upset amongst users but the original creator of the video, @foodmasku, has responded to the video to clear up some confusion.

TikToker @foodmasku is a performance artist and made a video in which he explained the content of the original video and mentioned that there was no real restaurant involved and that the waiter was in fact him:

@foodmasku #stitch with @The Ebony Ranger ☭ storytime! I never made 10k a month doing this. It was a performance art piece done at the Invisible Dog in Brooklyn with fellow artists Allison Walker and @Benjy Bradshaw Even though the original meme accounts never credited me, I am glad people are using the video to discuss inequalities in our food systems and the exploitation of our food service industry folks. Thanks for all the tags. I’m no good at this app. But I’ll post the two other videos that audience member took so people can see more of the performance 🙏🏽 #personasplatefortherich #hungergames #foodmasku ♬ original sound - Foodmasku

Restaurants are also always trying to be innovative and creative with their dining experiences, but lets hope they leave the food masks to @foodmasku!
