Nee hell, man: Iconic mayonnaise brand discontinued in SA

A heartbreaking day for all the mayo lovers out there.

In the last few years, South Africans have had to deal with a lot.

From a lack of electricity to a lack of fish paste, it seems that we will be losing another much-loved household staple in the coming months.

Hellmann's has officially announced that they will be taking their iconic mayonnaise off of SA shelves.

Taking to social media to break the news to their fans, the brand mentioned that there was a very specific and quite serious reason for the end of this era:

And as you can see, the news was truly devastating for some:

While mayo-fiends might be upset right now, and rightfully so, there could be light at the end of the tunnel, as they did mention that it is only "until further notice".

Hopefully that means that Hellmann's purists can expect the brand to be back in action in the future.
